When is Obon?

Question: When is Obon Japan Holiday?

Answer:  Obon is usually celebrated from August 13 to August 15.  Although Obon is not an official Japanese holiday a lot of Japanese companies are closed during this time.

Obon, or Bon Festival, is the Japanese Buddhist custom to honor the spirits of one’s ancestors.  In Japan this usually entails a family reunion and for families to return to their ancestral family places and visit their ancestors’ graves.
